What is vulturing? Finding slot machines other players left behind

Vulturing is walking the floor looking for machines other players left in a good state. It only works because some machines keep their progress after a player walks away.

Why it is possible

Certain machines carry persistent state: progress that stays on the machine between spins and between players instead of resetting. Someone who doesn't know that walks away and leaves it behind. The next player inherits it.

What you are looking at

Machine state is what a machine is holding right now: meter levels, built-up bonuses, what the last player left behind. The state, not the game, decides whether it's worth playing. Meters are where most persistent state shows.

Pass first, play second

Most machines, most of the time, aren't worth it, so passing well is most of the job. Decide your entry point and exit point before you put money in.

Limits

Plays can stop working. Machines get reconfigured, moved, or removed, and casino policy changes, so no machine is guaranteed to stay available. Gambling law and casino policy also vary by country, state, and property, so check locally before you act. Nothing here is legal advice.

Advantage play carries real financial risk. Nothing here is a guarantee of profit.
